Connery named best Bond

Sean ConnerySean Connery has beaten George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan in ‘the best James Bond of all time’ poll, run by SFX magazine.

SFX editor Dave Bradley said: “Everyone has their own memories about their favourite James Bond.

“Connery was the quintessential Bond – he was so strong in the role that even though successive generations in the meantime have grown up with their own James Bonds, Connery is the still the ultimate 007.”

We have another James Bond birthday with Timothy Dalton celebrating his 60th today.

The Welshman starred as 007 in two movies – The Living Daylights in 1987 and Licence to Kill in 1989.

Ex-Bond star in ‘Hot Fuzz’

Timothy Dalton, who starred as James Bond in 80s movies ‘The Living Daylights’ and ‘License to Kill’, is to a appear alongside Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jim Broadbent and Martin Freeman in ‘Hot Fuzz’, a new comedy from Working Title.

Pegg, actor and writer of ‘Shaun of the Dead’, said: “We’re trying to tell the story of a policeman from the metropolitan police who gets involved in some crazy stuff.

“It should be fun because we’re dealing with a culture that doesn’t really have guns and the police aren’t really armed. So that should be fun trying make an action movie out of that.”
