Craig in prickly situation

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

Following his loss of teeth while filming ‘Casino Royale’, now Bond actor Daniel Craig is reportedly suffering from prickly heat.

A source on the movie’s set told The Sun newspaper: “It’s driving him mad. He constantly wants to scratch. It’s worst when he does a costume change. He is in agony.

“He has been moaning to his assistants that he’s got prickly heat. He is extremely wary of being outside now. But the nature of filming is such that he is out in the heat all day.”

Brosnan ‘tones down’ The Matador

Friday, February 24th, 2006

Ex-Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has revealed that homosexual scenes from his new movie ‘The Matador’ were cut.

Brosnan said: “I don’t regret it, not at all – even with Brokeback Mountain’s success.

“The original problem was the director threw everything at it – including the kitchen sink.

“It was too much. It came on full tilt.

“I felt it took away from the ambiguity of his sexuality.

“I just got it toned down.”

Stephens: Craig will be brilliant!

Friday, February 24th, 2006

Actor Toby Stephens, who played Gustav Graves in ‘Die Another Day’, is backing Daniel Craig to be a success in his new role as 007 in ‘Casino Royale’.

Stephens said: “Craig is a serious actor and doesn’t look like a traditional James Bond.

“He is a very dark actor and a very interesting one and I think he will be brilliant. It will reinvigorate the whole thing.

“It is not going to be to everyone’s taste but that is the thing when you take over a role, you are not going to please everyone.”

On the last movie, Stephens added: “The last Bond film took it to an extreme in one direction and it became fantastical.

“It was all those things people want from Bond but it was stretched to its absolute limit.”

Moore: Why attack him?

Friday, February 24th, 2006

Another legendary actor, this time Sir Roger Moore, has hit out at critics of Daniel Craig’s casting.

Moore said: “He’s a hell of a good actor.”

As no-one has seen Craig yet in action, Moore added: “So why attack him?”

He also rejected talk that there’s no room for Bond in this day and age. The 78-year-old said: “It’s fantasy. Bond is fantasy, there’s no real substance to it. It’s a figment of imagination… sort of crazy, you know, a spy who is recognised wherever he goes – spies ain’t like that.”

Craig not in gear

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

It has been reported that Daniel Craig has struggled to drive the classic Aston Martin DB5, which was brought to the Bahamas for filming.

The 37-year-old reportedly said: “Er… I don’t do gears.”

An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “They’ve started shooting here and are using the old DB5, which is absolutely sensational. It was shipped over and was ready to go but then we found out he can’t drive a manual car.

“So we have had to adapt it so it’s like an automatic. You don’t expect that with James Bond, to be honest.”
