Sean Connery has beaten George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan in ‘the best James Bond of all time’ poll, run by SFX magazine.
SFX editor Dave Bradley said: “Everyone has their own memories about their favourite James Bond.
“Connery was the quintessential Bond – he was so strong in the role that even though successive generations in the meantime have grown up with their own James Bonds, Connery is the still the ultimate 007.”
Comedian to host Bond show

Little Britain star David Walliams is to present a one-hour show called, ‘My Life With James Bond’ for ITV television.
Walliams said: “Unfortunately I have never been asked to play James Bond, but I have been asked to present this new documentary. I promise not to camp it up. Too much.”
Jaws wanted by football manager
Thursday, September 14th, 2006Burnley football club manager Steve Cotterill wants to sign up ‘Jaws’ aka 7′ 2″ actor Richard Kiel.
Cotterill said after his side’s 4-2 win over Barnsley: “We can certainly attack but we need to learn how to defend as well. Perhaps I can get a 6ft 7in defender to come in and do the job.
“I wonder if that big fella out of the James Bond films is available as we could do with someone like him at the moment.”
Bond star to be stuffed!
Thursday, September 14th, 2006An alligator called ‘Big Boy’ who appeared in ‘Live and let die’ is to be stuffed following his death earlier this month.
The 3m long 45-year-old had retired to Beaver Water World after also starring in the BBC’s The Young Ones.
Curator Stella Quayle said: “He died from old age really.”
She added: “He was immensely popular. He was a real character.”
